Standing Outside the Fire...
With there only being two more days left in October I thought it appropriate to post one of my favorite music videos. Now as I look back to when I first saw this video as a teenager I think I knew that I was going to have a child with Down Syndrome. I could just always see myself in that type of a situation with my child.
I know that with all of Rhett's heart and lung problems it is very likely that he will never be able to participate in track or football, but I can see a very bright future for him in many, many other sports.
So as we wrap up October and Down Syndrome Awareness Month, I thought that this would be a great way to finish off this spectacular month. Thank you so much for letting me share my special guy with you. We love him to pieces and would not have him any other way!!!

I just found your site, though 31 for 21. So glad to have found you! Rhett is beautiful! Thank you for sharing him with the world through your web site.

sweet, beautiful Pam. You have blessed me so many times since we became "family". And today is one of those instances. Your post below is so precious because you did nothing wrong and yet you felt bad and want to do better, whatever that may be. I hope you take my idea of practicing and have a script in your mind...like what you said below, so that you won't be caught off guard next time, and thus won't beat yourself up. :)
Isn't it neat that God let's us know what's coming in our lives sometimes? I love that we share that experience too.
And last but not least, I HAVE to make time tomorrow for my girls to carve their little pumpkins. I'm not a big Halloween fan, and we just have been too busy. But your pumpkins inspired me.
Much love, Nicole
I cannot believe I had never seen that before! I'm so glad you posted this!
