Rhett Got A New Carseat......

Not that we wanted to get one, nor could we afford it, but it had to be done. I was vacuuming out the car yesterday and took his seat out to clean underneath it and realized that there was a CRACK down the back of it.

Of course it wasn't under warranty anymore, and so there was nothing we could do about it. I swore up and down I wouldn't buy another one by the same brand, however it turns out that is the only one we could afford, and he HAS to have a carseat. Espically since we are going to be making the hour and a half long trip up to Primary's tomorrow.

We ended up going with this one since it was well.......cheap.

I usually am not all about the cheap thing when it comes to carseats, but desperate times call for desperate measures. It also really chaps my hide that it's almost 20.00 cheaper online, and I could have done the site to store shipping for free. But I didn't have time to wait for it to come. We needed it now. Ugh.

We have one similar and I really like it. The really cheap/junk one's we got before were bad, this one is a luxery LOL

Do you think you could bring in the online price and your receipt back in and see if the store will honor the online price? I know a lot of places do that. If not...return it later and order the one online.

I would return it and get either the Cosco Apex or the Graco Nautilus. Both are around the same price but harness to 65lbs instead of the 40lbs of this seat. No way will he be ready for a booster in a few more pounds. It's too bad that your older child doesn't have a harnessed seat he can use while they move to a booster.

The Apex requires headrests, but other than that both seats are pretty decent. You should be able to return this one as long as you have the tags and the box.

Good luck.

I want you to know that it is your fault that I am now hooked on blogging and Wordless Wednesday! I spend way to much time at this @#$ computer!
I hope you have a great day with your family!

Just because it is not as expensive as some doesn't mean it is a bad car seat. As long as he fits properly and it meets safety standards I would think that you would be fine.

So, when my little one was about 8 months old, I had to upgrade my carseat. Well, I went with the top of the line Britax because well, it was cute and grandpa paid for the seat. Now that Ava is getting a little older, I wish I would have went for a more down graded version.

I really thought when we bought it that we would never have to buy another seat for her again. Well, I was wrong. It still works great and is been 2 years however, although it says that it goes up the 65 pounds, I am going to need to go with something more like you just purchased in a year or so from now. If I leave her in it until she weighs 65 pounds, her head is going to hit the roof of my car it's so tall! I learned that it doesn't matter how much it costs, what matters is how well the seat fits the child!

Doesn't need to be expensive Pam as long as it keeps little Rhett safe. With all the stress you have right now I bet buying a carseat seemed like a huge decision. :(
