A surgery deferment update...from afar

Hi, Michelle here (Elliot’s momma in Nebraska). Just a quick update regarding sweet Rhett’s surgery as Pam has no access to her laptop currently.

Pam just phoned and indicated that the ICU is currently full so they have delayed dear Rhett’s spinal surgery by 2-5 hours. It's about 1:30 CST currently. Poor kiddo. Rhett has not had one morsel of food for a good 8 hours and cannot eat before surgery commences (unless delayed more than 5 hours).

At any rate, as the zoo is just adjacent to the hospital, they are enjoying some family time with the animals until a PICU room opens up.

As always, our family is keeping theirs in our prayers. We’ve had this surgery as well (rare as it is) and our son came through with flying colors. Rhett will do the same, (strong, strong boy that he is). Please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers…
