I was just reading....

a post from Evan's mommy on I never thought, and she was talking about what her last 2 years have been like....It made me think of ours, are you ready for this?????

Got pregnant, only to find out it was an ectopic pregnancy, had to have surgery to remove it.....4 months later got pregnant again, had lots of bleeding during the first trimester, that went away, and lo and behold we still had a baby in there.....2nd trimester everything good.....3rd trimester baby is breech, dreaded words of c-section, water breaks at 35 weeks, go to hospital, baby has turned in just one hour, so we get to do it natural, I go from being dilated to a 4 to having a baby in 14 minutes, Which is a good thing, as we lost the heartbeat......the nurses deliver the baby, Dr. doesn't make it in time......Find out that our baby is only 4 lbs and having trouble breathing, so he is going to the NICU....at which point my OB/GYN has a heart attack.....Rhett comes into this world with a bang!!.....we spend 15 days in the NICU, trying to grow, and eat at which point we find out that our son has Down Syndrome, and also that he is going to need heart surgery......Come home just before Halloween, and in between October, and January, we make 5 ER visits to get adjustments on medications because of de sats, and all of the other junk that comes with being in congestive heart failure......In January we get Rhett's surgery scheduled for February.....the week before his surgery, Andy's grandma goes into the hospital because of pneumonia, and we find out that she has chronic lung disease, this is devastating to us, as she has been in perfect health, and she is the person who raised him, she goes on a ventilator, and the odds that she will come off are not good......the next week we take Rhett up to the hospital for his heart surgery. He is a mere 8 lbs, and is 5 1/2 months old....complications arise, and it ends up being another 18 day hospital stay.....We come home, and go through life as normal as we can, Andy's grandma is still in the hospital, and on a vent, we try visit as much as we can......things go well until July, when after lying in a hospital bed for 5 months on a ventilator, we loose grandma......Andy was with her at the time she passed away.....less than a month later we get a phone call that Andy's cousin who was only 24, and a father to three children passed away unexpectedly.....we go through the next few months until Rhett gets sick again, and we find the hernia........another surgery, only supposed to be there for 2 days, but of course he gets overdosed.....we almost loose him, and are in the hospital for another 14 days.......Yes boring never sounded so absolutely wonderful......

We have had many happy experiences too though...and one of our friends pointed out to us, that in this picture Rhett's oxygen cord is in a halo above his head. This picture was taken just after he came out of surgery.....maybe it was a sign that Rhett's grandma was there with him.....or maybe it is just God's way of letting us know that we really do have an angel here on earth.........

WOW.

Compared to you (and Jen) our last two years have been very very boring.

I love boring!

And here's wishing you a boring future...

Oh, your last paragraph gave me chills!!!
I remember being in a whirlwind~ thankfully things have calmed down, as I pray they will for you. Still never boring, but they have calmed.
Love,
Kei
