Highlights of our Disneyland Trip.........

First of all on day one, I was taking a picture and Chloee came up behind me, bumped my elbow, and my new camera flew out of my hands, went crashing to the ground....and shattered. WAAAAAAAA!!!!!! So all you get for now is just the one picture of our family at Goofy's Kitchen.....(I will get to that later.)

The good news is, is that my sister and brother-in-law took lots and lots of pictures, so as soon as we can get them copied to a disc I will have alot to share. There are some really cute ones. My favorites are the ones from Newport Beach on Easter. Wowsa there are some interesting people who hang out there. There were two guys riding their bikes around. One was dressed up in a pink bunny costume, and the other one was dressed up like Jesus......O.k. back to my sheltered life that I live in.......

The drive down to California was not bad at all. Rhett did very well, and seemed quite content to sit there in his carseat, play with his Elmo toy, and eat fruit snacks and Cheerios.

When we got there he rolled around in the hotel room and learned that it was quite funny to shut the door on people while they were in the bathroom. We went to one of the most expensive IHOP's that I have ever been to. My eggs Benedict that I usually pay 7.00 for in Utah was 11.99 in California. Granted it was right next to the Disneyland park, so I am sure that had a little to do with the price jack up.

The next day we went to Disneyland. It was PACKED. Spring break, and Easter weekend, holy smokes the whole world was there! It was quite overwhelming as it was my first time there. The lines were huge. Thank heavens for fast passes! Rhett got to ride the teacups, and It's a Small World. He loved it.

Then we met Cruella D'ville. She told Chloee that next time we come, she wants her to bring her dog Jax, (who just happens to be black and white) down and she would make her a lovely coat out of him. I thought Chloee was going to smack her.

Next we were off to ride Dumbo. That was 2 hours of pure hell. I had no idea the line was as bad as it was. There were little kids screaming and stepping on my feet, and irritated parents everywhere. But alas it was the one ride that Chloee had been looking forward to, so we stayed. Then we got on the ride, and it lasted all of about 30 seconds. Ugh.....

So then we introduced her to the big people rides. Space Mountain, The Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain.....She loved them. She got off of Big Thunder Mountain, was jumping up and down, and says, "That was the wildest ride ever!" Ah yes, my 5 year old is my child.

Rhett had a wonderful time watching all of the people, and everyone was so great to him. I can't count how many people had to stop us and talk to him. Of course he loved all of the attention, and thought he was the bomb.

The next day we went to California Adventures. I took Chloee on the Tower of Terror, this ride consists of being on an elevator. Of course you sitting in seats, but it takes you up 13 stories, and then drops you. But not before it opens the shutters and shows you just how high up you really are. Then they close, and you are in utter darkness as you fall the 13 stories.

I was a little worried how she would react, but when it was over she yelled... "AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!" That's my girl!!

I loved the screamin California roller coaster. So did Hunter and Dakota. It takes you to a spot, then this guy comes on and says " We are about to Rock your world in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1......and then it shoots you over the hill. I have never been on a roller coaster where you don't climb the hill, and then go down. It was great.

We went to the electrical parade that night, it was alot of fun. This was Chloee's birthday, so she got the royal treatment wherever we went. When Prince Charming came around with Cinderella's glass slipper, he asked her if it was hers. I thought she was going to melt. She shook her head yes, and fell into Andy's arms.

I was really impressed with Dakota, and how well he did. He has asperger's syndrome, and usually when we go into a crowded enviorment, he looses it, and has huge meltdowns. But this trip he kept it together, and did very well. I am quite proud of him.

On Friday we got to meet up with some friends from the T21 message board that I belong to. Their baby is 4 months old. He is one of the most exquisitely beautiful babies I have ever met. He is just adorable! It was alot of fun, I just wish we could have spent more time with them.

Sunday we stayed at the Excalibur in Las Vegas. I didn't go out of the room much, because of all of the cigarette smoke and such. Rhett just did not need to be around that. So that is our trip in a nut shell. It was alot of fun. But next time I think we will stay at least 4 days in Disneyland. I couldn't have asked for a better time with my family. I look forward to all of the little mini vacations that we will take this summer going camping, and four wheeling in the mountains. Oh what fun we will have!

Oh, how cool reading about your fun!!! So sad about the camera, but thankfully your sis had one. You brave thing~ I could not bring myself to do the tower of terror a few years ago at Disney World. And I so hear you about the Dumbo ride. Can't wait to see all the pics!
