Please say Some Prayers for Andy......

Andy had his MRI done on his back last week. Yesterday he went in for his appointment with the back specialist. We never expected these results.

Andy's back is broken. He has been walking around for the last 6 months with a fracture in his spine. On top of that he has 3 herniated discs. 2 mild, and one severe. The one that is severe is the very last one at the bottom of his spine. The cartilage, (I think that's what it is) is squishing out onto his sciatic nerve, and into his spinal canal. The doctor told us on the MRI it looks like he has jelly in his spinal canal.

Andy has some major life changes to do. If he doesn't it means he will be in a wheelchair in less than ten years. No more softball, hiking,(Which means hunting too), no more horseback riding, absolutely nothing that will jar his back. For those of you that know my husband, he eats sleeps and breathes all of these things. Espically softball and hunting.

As for now we are looking at back surgery in the very near future. Which means that he will be flat in bed for 6 weeks minim mum. He asked the doctor if he could have it at the first of next year, so that he could stay working during the holidays. But the doctor was not all too thrilled about this idea. We'll see what happens with that.

We are working on doing a short sale on our house. Dakota's speech therapist does real estate and wants to buy it then turn around and sell it. As we were writing up the timeline of all of the events that led up to us loosing our home, it was crazy to see everything that had happened.

It makes one wonder how many times you can be knocked down before you just give up. If it's not one thing it's another.

If you could keep Andy in your prayers that he will not be in so much pain, and that his back can heal well, and also that he does not go into another depression as he changes his whole life style, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also please pray that things will work out financially for us as he is off of work for another 6 weeks during the holidays. Oh and one more prayer that he will be able to keep his job as he has only been there a month and does not qualify for FMLA, sick time, or vacation. YIKES!!!

Thank you for letting me whine. I can't get on to the board that I usally post on because I am on a lap top that has a weak connection, with limited access. I can't wait for my computer to be up and running again!
