Well We are Home

Things went fairly well. All except for the fact that when they pulled the breathing tube back to get him to obstruct, well his airway pretty much collapsed, his sats dropped to the 50's and they had to hurry and re-establish his airway.

Other than that we don't know much about the results yet. He was wheezy before he was put under so they gave him some albuterol. Then he needed two treatments before we went home as well. I have to take him tomorrow to our regular ped to have him listen to him to see if we need to start breathing treatments with him for a while.

His Nystagmus is really bad right now, and he's really tired, doesn't want to do much of anything but sit on my lap. His head is shaking too. He is drinking lots of Pedialyte, but gags on regular food, but that is to be expected as he was ventilated for over 3 hours.

They did an echo too. I am supposed to call first thing in the morning to talk to the Neurologist, ENT, and Cardiologist and go over the results.

There was a huge snow storm that hit on our way home, and I thought we were going to die going up the point of the mountain. Semi's were sliding back down the road sideways. What normally takes an hour to get from the hospital to home, took us 3 1/2 hours. But we are all here safe and sound, and I am emotionally and physically exhausted.

Thanks for all the prayers. I will update when we know more about the results.

Oh sweetie...I have been on pins and needles worried all day long. I saw that you all were getting hit hard with snow and was worried about that as well. Sheesh, if it isn't one thing, it's another! Please kiss Rhett for us. We have been praying like crazy for all of you. Hope the snow clears before Thursday.

I'm glad that you made it there and back safely. I saw the huge pileups in your area on the news! I was in a fender bender myself today while taking Macy to get her synagis. Ugh. Can winter please be over???

Hoping for good test results!

Hey there! Just zipping in to see how the MRI went...I thought about you all a lot on Monday. And yes...I can see where you would be completely emotionally and physically exhausted after all of that! lol!! You're a tough cookie, though! You deserve a visit to the spa and lots of chocolates!

I've not been around for a bit, but I just managed to look in.

I'm so glad Rhett got through the MRI OK. I do hope he's feeling recovered now.

I'm a day late with this, but all the very best with Andy's surgery. I hope it's gone well and he can have less pain soon.

Love and gentle hugs to you all,

Meri.
