Chloee's Turn.......

Wow, the fun never ends at our house. Friday night Chloee injured her neck. I didn't think much of it to begin with. Then over the weekend she started complaining of her head hurting when she was chewing. Since then she has gone downhill and lost alot of the mobility in her neck. She also cannot hold her head straight, and tilts it to the right.

It has been decided that her spine is all out of whack and you can actually feel a lump in her neck from the muscles, and disks that are bulging. We are going to try to do PT, and chiropractic care for a month. Hoping to avoid the need for surgery.

Seriously. That's all I need it two kids having major surgery in the month of June. I must say that that would put my stress level to an extreme high. It's funny. Chloee has always been my really healthy one. But she is also the one that seems to have the most injuries. She has had stitches in her head twice, as well as staples in her head once.

I guess it's because she is always trying to keep up with those big brothers of hers. She just thinks that she can do everything they can. Even at a year old she thought that. Needless to say, she can't go to school for the rest of the week, and her last day is on the 23rd. Hopefully she will be feeling well enough to go to her kindergarten graduation.

On the bright side, we were worried about meningitis because she has been sick for a while, but thank heavens it wasn't. That could have been REALLY scary. Please keep my little princess in your prayers.

Definitely praying for your family, as I am everyday.

I thought about you and Rhett a lot today. Its too much to write in a comment so you'll have to check my blog, tomorrow when I feel up to writing about our day.

Pam, I am so sorry! Poor Chloee! I really hope that the PT and chiropractor help - no more surgery for you guys - especially neck/back surgery in a 5/6 year old! You're all in my prayers...

Hi, my name is Sarah Head, I introduced myself in a note when we sent a book for Rhett and also commented on your post on the downsyn forum. Your story has touched me in a big way, and there are so many things I want to do for people in your situation, in fact I'm getting together with some other Down Syndrome mothers next week to start throwing around ideas. But in the mean time my husband, myself and some friends of ours get together every other Friday to play poker and last Friday I was talking about Rhett and we thought about having a poker tournament benefit in Rhetts name. It would just be our friends, and we thought about also having a raffle for a tattoo, (my husband is a tattoo artist). I thought I'd better ask you first and make sure its ok with you and your family. If it is I wondered if we could put something together with some pictures and your story so everyone can see Rhett and read about you and your story. I hope I'm not being to forward, I just really want to help, so let me know how you feel and take care of yourself!
Sincerely,
Sarah Head

If you need a referal to a chiropractor let me know. I took Deshawn to this wonderful man in Sandy that does a different type of chiropractic work. He isn't the bone breaker type. He barely even touches you (I wish I knew the type it is. Anyway let me know and I can get you the info.

Pam and Rhett,

I found you through your comments over on Kaden and Ava's log. I have been following you since about Feb. I just wanted to say that your blogs have been great. I have three boys myself and my 2 year old has severe asthma. I have been in and out of clinics seeing GI specialist, Pulmonary specialists and asthma/allergy specialist. So as far as keeping busy with dr appointments, I can relate. Rhett is a beautiful boy and I think about your family often. I hope Chloe gets better soon. How did she injure her neck? My niece injured hers on a trampaline and it was scarry until the doctor cleared her from anything serious.

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that complete strangers pray for you and your family as well.
