How Did He Get So Cute?
After the comments going on in the post below, I was going to not post this, because I am feeling so down, even more than I have been the past two weeks, if that's at all possible, but I decided that I need a smile on my face.
Rhett has been doing better today, so we pulled his oxygen concentrator out onto the deck and let him swing for a few minutes in the backyard today. He was thrilled. It didn't last too long, because the sun was bugging him, but he had fun while it lasted. It was so good to see a smile on his face too.
This one, he wasn't actually crying, he was just bugged with the sun being in his face.
Man, I love this kid. He means is worth anything and everything that we have gone through. I would not change a thing, for if I did he would not be who he is.
Notice his haircut? I did that last night. It wasn't easy, and it's not exactly straight all the way around, but oh he is soooo cute with it!!!!

hang in there. sending a hug your way. you are a strong lady, you will and can get though anything. your kids are very lucky to have you and andy as parents - they will be better kids because of everything you guys have gone though. rhett is one special guy.
dont let the negative comments get you down. those who send you those comments, dont understand your situation and never have been in your shoes. you have to experience something to go though all this.

Hi, what a cutie pie you've got there!
I have a 1 year old son with Noonans syndrome. He was oxygen dependant before his Nissen fundoplication (at 9 months) and was being examined for an eventual cystic fibrosis diagnosis.
The Nissen really turned our lives to the brighter side, because our sons condition improved dramatically with the Nissen. No more oxygen, no more thick phlegm to cough up or suction. Turned out he had been aspirating the whole time.
Now when he gets nauseaus (sp?) we open the g-tube and excess stomach content comes out, instead of him trying to vomit.
His congenital heart defect is Tetralogy of Fallot, with DORV, PDA and PFO.

LOL... oh, I know those kinds of haircuts! The only way to really cut William's hair is when he's sleeping, so often he ends up with a sorta mullet! LMAO!
Rhett looks like he's having a blast, and isn't that what it's all about?

People can be so mean! I'm glad that you chose not to let those negative comments--posted by people who were not even honest or brave enough to share their names--get in the way of your posting these ADORABLE photos of Rhett.
Awwww...those are some adorable photos! That haircut makes him look like such a big boy!
BTW, re: the last post and comments...we ended up using tegaderm in place of the "dots" b/c they tore up Nik's skin so bad; the t/derm was gentler (and covered by our medicaid at the time). We'd cut narrow strips and use one for the O2 and another for the NG. We still have about a month's supply of tegaderm which we no longer need. If you want me to mail it to you just drop me an email ok?
Pam, I am truly so sorry for all the struggles that you and your sweet family are going through! During our Sydney's surgery we were over whelmed with the many people that donated time and money for our sweet baby, it was a very humbling experience! How I have wished that I could help to ease your burden somehow as others helped my family in our time of need! As my family has again found ourselves going through hard times, I look to your blog for strength to continue on! You are truly a strong and wonderful mother and your kids are extremely lucky to have the loving family that they have! You will survive this! I know why Rhett is such a strong little fighter, it is because of the example that you set for your family! You are a fighter, you are doing what you have to, to make sure that your family is taken care of! Please don't give up! Your strong fighting example has given me the courage to keep going despite the many trials that I am having! Thank you for your willingness to share with us what has been going on in your life, you are blessing other people through your example.

We used to ask my nephew when he was about two how he got to be so darn cute and that was his response..."it's natural."
I am glad that you posted pictures. He looks so sticken cute with his haircut. Kaden had the same problem with the sun...we put ballcaps on him and now his prescription glasses. It seems to help. We found out that he has some type of vision impair. The doc said that it could make the sun brighter for him. Have you gotten his eyes checked? Just a thought, I don' want to put anymore worries on you.
Well, I am glad that Rhett is doing well. He looks sooo great!!! Hang in there..."this too shall pass."

Awww! He is so cute! His hair looks *really* red there! I didn't realize it was that red! It looks cute cut like that and of course Rhett is doubly cute any time he smiles!
Btw, I sent you a letter with no return address and have been fretting over it since I mailed it. It wasn't that I don't trust you with my address or something, I just forgot about it completely. And then remembered not five minutes after I'd left the post office. (Why does it always seem to happen like that??) Anyway, I hope you don't think I'm some kind of creepster for it... Next time I promise I'll remember it...

What a cute haircut. I really need to do something about M's but she refuses. Lately she refuses it being washed as well. Argh!
The sun! Ugh. It really bothers M here as well. All winter I wait and pray for summer and most of the summer M is crying about the sun hurting. Sigh.

I love this little boy so much! To be around him in person and feel his strong spirit is amazing but I can feel his spirit by looking at his pictures too! He is a very special person sent here to teach a lot of people a lot of different things; strength, courage, humility, love, honor, faith, hope, friendship, integrity, honesty, virtue, wholeness, the list goes on and on. Those that can't, won't or don't learn a valuable life lesson from Rhett's life isn't worth your time, because your time is precious. So you spend your precious time with your family and friends, doing what you enjoy doing and unfortunately doing somethings you don't enjoy (like going to the hospital!)but have to do. Writing your blog is good therapy for you and you have been brave enough and kind enough to let us in and get to know this beautiful little boy of yours and the rest of your family. The people that care about you and your family will continue to pray for you, cheer you on, and bring you comfort!

Also, I told you several months back that we were heading in the same direction as you since our home loan was due to go to a ARM. Well, we got refinanced just in time (within a week of our scheduled ARM). So tragedy avoided. But everytime I thought about the ARM, I thought of you all. Sorry to associate you like that, but it was the truth. I wish I didn't have to learn from your life experience. Or actually, I should say I wish you didn't have to have the life experience for me to learn from it. But thanks anyhow! HUGS!
