Hair & Miracles.....

Look at this nice tame hair. He is really a beautiful kid, isn't he? This was during our recent hospital stay.

This is what we woke up to this morning........

So seriously, he wasn't crying, the wind here has been horrible and all of my kids, have had some serious allergy problems. Itchy red and watery eyes, they are a mess, and the goo in the morning is horrible. Oh, and can't forget the snotty noses!! :)

Now here is where you all are going to think I am totally off my rocker.......well, it's true I am.

I let my nine year old get a mohawk for the summer.

He wanted one so bad, and has for a long time, so there you have it, and did I really need any other reason other than my kids have been through more than any child should ever see and deal with, so why not let them have fun once in a while?

I didn't think so.

I love this next shot. See Hunter is a total Dennis the Menace. We really should have named him that. Do you see that ding in his head? That's a scar from when he was playing with his sling shot and it flung back and hit him in the head. Took a good chunk out, but no stitches needed. That was when he was like 6. It's kinda cool to see his scar though!!!

Once again, I really don't sit around and make my kids cry by taking their pictures, the red watery eyes are from allergies. I promise.

Now I am not crazy I really did put the word miracles in the title and for that I have a few reasons. First of all, just the fact that we get to tuck each one of our kids into bed each night is reason enough for a miracle don't you think?

But today we are even more blessed. Remember our house that we lost, and the bank was adamant about foreclosing on? Well apparently due to the slow housing market and all of the issues with that, they are really trying to work with people.

So a few weeks ago we got a phone call from the Hardship Department. They were getting ready for the final papers to list the home as being foreclosed on, and they wanted to know if we wanted to try any last ditch efforts to save it.

Well duh, of course we do, so without getting our hopes up we filed for a hardship, knowing that it would probably be denied, because it was back in October, which is why we moved.

But this time, God was looking out for us, and knew where our hearts belonged, and our hardship was approved. Our interest rate dropped from 10% to 5% and our payments were cut in half. Do you realize what this means?

We get to move back HOME. Our home, not somewhere where that belongs to someone else. We get to move back to our old friends, who became family. The people who would drop whatever they were doing when Rhett ended up in the hospital and come up and give him a blessing. I am sitting here typing through tears knowing that miracles really do happen. Good things happen when we need them most.

This is a huge stress relief for me. I love that house, it has so many memories. It's the house where we brought our little miracle home from the hospital at a mere 4lbs, it's the house where both of my older boys learned to ride their bikes. It's the house where Chloee made her first best friend. It's the house where Andy and I learned that to get through life we needed each other, and our marriage became the strongest it has ever been. It's ours. It's still ours.

And I know it's offical because we made our first mortgage payment today. The 20 thousand that we owed them in back payments has all been brought current. Gone are the collection letters, and the foreclosure notices. We are current. No catch up game to play.

We aren't moving until mid-July, we plan to be totally out of the house we are renting by the 1st of August.

Then there is another miracle. Tomorrow we go up to our local Make a Wish Chapter, and Rhett gets to make his wish for his big screen TV. After we get settled in our "old" house his wish should be granted and I will get to love on him and watch TV with him while he recovers from his surgeries, in my recliner instead of making a bed for him on the floor as close to the TV as we can. He will get to actually see the detail of the shows he watches. Little miracles that we all take for-granted. Being able to see detail. What an amazing thing.

I will be sure to take lots of pictures to share.

Today was a good day. Every day is a good day, but some are just better than most, and today was one of those days.

Pam,

That is great news about the house. Sometimes God just gives us nice surprises as well. That is truly a miracle. I just wanted you to know that we did put up a raffle for a day of beauty at the salon. I'm going to leave it up for about 4-6 weeks. All of our clients usually come in every 4-6 weeks so this way we can maybe catch all of them on one rotation. Hopefully we will get an overkill of participants.

Now since you had a better Tuesday, try to have an even better Wednesday!!

If my kid wanted a mohawk I would let him get one in the summer as well! You don't know me but I follow your blog and although I am a stranger i would love to help you somehow. Monetarily is not an option at the moment but what I am willing to do is come to your house and pick up your laundry, take it back to my house and wash, fold it all and then bring it back. I can do this for you at least once a week and it would be of no charge. I know how overwhelming laundry feels and especially when you are trying to move and deal with other things. If this is something you would be interested in please email me at brenda@dancewiththebest.com.

I'm so happy that things are looking up for your family! God is good!!

My now 11 yr old has been getting mohawks for the past 2 summers (although the very first one was in Feb. 2 yrs ago.) He loves them, and I figure there are worse things he could want. We are actually on our way in a little bit to get another one!

PAM-OH PAM!
I am so happy for you! There is nothing like being HOME when you dont feel well. Ryan and I have come very close to losing our home in the last year when he was out of work and are almost there again now that I have been out of work with my heart baby for the last year. My heart goes out to you. Dealing with medical issues and financial issues are overwhelming and you have triple the helpings! I shaved Dallas' head into a mohawk yesterday too! I decided, if people look at him differently, or at me as his mother differently because of it- then those people should stay out of my way! I am different, the reality of losing a child day in and day out does that to you!
I will come visit next week when Rhett is up for it. let us know on your blog when you want visitors.
much love and prayers,
Tami and Thatcher

Amazing how things change from one day to the next~ Pam, I am soooooo happy for all of you!!!

LOL on Rhett's bed-head!

Like the mohawk... I let my oldest do that one year. He was in 7th grade if I remember correctly. I used to spike it for him before his basketball games, lol~ it was long!!! He has destroyed most pics of that; I have the negatives, LMAO!!!

Hugs to you my friend!!!!

OMG, I am in tears! How very awesome for your family. you deserve the break that is for sure. I thought it funny that you started your post with the allergy thing, watery eyes and goop! Tucker is fighting the same thing. Benadyrl works but they are moving him to Clariton kids. He is soooo very congested once again and yes they look miserable with the runny eyes and red noses.
I am just so happy for you.....I will be thinking of you and praying for Rhett during his surgery. Hang tough.....keep the blessings coming!!! :)

Wow what exciting news! I am so happy for you. OH, and as for the mohawk, my belief has always been, it's only hair and it'll grow back.
