We Really Are Alive.......

Sorry for the lack of posts. I didn't mean to leave everyone in the dark. We are doing okay. We are moved in to our home, and we have been very busy. We had our Internet shut off for a while so that we could use the money for that to go to gas while we moved, and to help with some more important bills.

I ended up making a hard decision that I have been toying with, and decided to sell my Durango. We downsized to a smaller older car that doesn't quite fit our whole family, but is okay, because we still have Andy's truck, which we can take when we are all going somewhere.

I miss it, but I know that it was the best thing for us right now. It's hard when Andy has income coming in, but it's too much for any type of help so it all goes to bills bills bills.

Good news is, is that tomorrow is the first of August, and we will have insurance.

Rhett has been busy. He got a Mic-key button, but he still goo's alot from his stoma. He is down from 32 lbs to 27 lbs, and we call "him the little boy formerly known as chubby". He's not so chubby anymore.

He is talking like crazy. Using words together, and saying new words every day. I've noticed that alot of his words he leaves the first letter of the word off, Like Puppy is Uppy, Cracker is Acker, Daddy is Addy, Chloee is Owee, Hunter is Adurh, and Dakota is Oda. He does have Mom down packed though. I can't walk away with out a long drawn out Moooooommmmmmmmm!!!! From him.

Right now he is battling a nasty stomach bug, and it's so hard to watch him try to throw up when he can't. He just gags and retches and his little eyes are all black around them from the pressure of basically dry heaving so much.

We had a good Cardiology visit on Tuesday. Rhett's heart has shrunk significantly, they want the area between the walls of his chest and his heart to be around 55%, last chest xray he was around 60%, and now he is down to 50%, which is very normal. This means that we have a very good chance of having his Pulmonary Hypertension reversed.

He is off of oxygen during the day, and only on it at night. They are going to do an echo when he goes in for his spinal surgery to measure the pressures in his lungs. His Dr. thinks that for right now things are okay, and we are heading in the right direction. He still won't say that we are in the clear, but things are getting better, and that's all I can ask for right now. I will take that information and run with it.

We are still waiting with our lawsuit. Right now they are trying to find a pediatric pulmonolgist to go over the case and see what type of damage was done to his lungs when he was overdosed. We were hoping this would all be over with by August, but it looks like it's going to be drawn out for a while longer.

Anyways, that's all I can think of right now, I am tired, and need to do some more unpacking. Then off to bed.

Wow, you certainly HAVE been busy! So glad you are in the new/old house now! Rhett sounds like he's just blossomed! Very cool.

Glad to know the silence was simply "life" taking precedence over blogging!

Glad your back

The best (hands down) pediatric pulmonlogist in Utah is Dr. Pfeffer, she DOES NOT practice out of PCMC but does have rights there. She is near Pioneer Valley Hospital. The only two other that I know of are at PCMC.

email me if you need her phone number. cori_n_wes_mom@yahoo.com
