How Many Duckies?

I dunno about you, but I think this kid is pretty dang smart, I FINALLY got him doing some numbers on video!!!

Oh, and FYI incase you were wondering. Today is no better than yesterday was.

I have some serious issues with some of our neighbors. Because the city didn't do anything about our yard, now they are complaining about our dogs. The puppies were barking this morning as the kids were walking out to the bus stop because some dumb teenagers were poking at them through a hole in the fence teasing them. I kenneled them when I realized what was going on, but that didn't stop someone from calling to complain.

Seriously, if you have an issue with us, or our dogs, our yard, whatever....be an adult and come talk to us. Maybe find out WHY our yard hasn't been put together. Instead of just assuming that we are either lazy, or that we are doing it to piss you off.

Andy and I have decided that we are going to make a big sign to put along our fence that says, "If you don't like the way our yard looks, why don't you donate some time from your boring life of complaining and do a service project." Okay, that's the nice way of putting it, I think when we were discussing it I added in a few words that I shouldn't have said because there were preschool toys in the room. Okay, really we're not, but dang it, I want to be inmature!!

Seriously, I can't take Rhett out and work on the yard when it's over 90 degrees out there. He gets sick in the heat, and Andy is working two jobs 6 days a week. His only day off is Sunday. Not to mention that all of it is big stuff that I can't move on my own.

I am really ready to just tell the world to go to hell go away and leave me alone.

I really need something good to happen. Or maybe I just need to remember all of the good around me. I have been trying so hard to be positive about everything, but this is killing me. I need sleep, and a serious break.

Sigh.

I have a friend that moved into a neighborhood in Sandy. It didn't matter what they did to their yard, it was never good enough for one neighbor. This neighbor actually went to the city counsel and told them that the new concrete that they poured for their driveway was too thick. Spare me!

When I talked with her a couple of weeks ago, she said that things had gotten a little better. Good luck with your neighbor. I hope that things will get better for you soon.

I know exactly what you mean about taking Rhett out in the heat. Vaeh has never tolerated heat well & I'm sorry the last thing on my mind is what my yard looks like! My child's health is a little more important than my yard's appearance! I'm with ya, sistah!

Hope things improve & that you're able to have a half ways decent weekend!

My friend in Utah was told that there was no issue with their dogs barking all day long. As long as it wasn't after 9pm or before 9am... or something along those lines. This after the cop threatened to arrest her because the 4 year old let the dog out, without a leash...and she ran out and got it back in within two minutes. You might look into it, see if the barking is ACTUALLY an issue.

Our yard went to pot this summer; we live in a home with a HOA but thankfully no one has said anything because they know exactly what is going on. Some people can be real jerks. Nathan doesn't tolerate heat either and his helmet makes it that much worse for him. Hang in there, things will get much better!

I'm feeling your misery. I had a neighbor call and complain that my 1999 Grand Am (which nothing is wrong with it and I still have full coverage insurance on) had expired tags and was sitting in my driveway not being driven. City Codes contacted me and said if I didn't get tags updated within one week, they would come onto my propery and tow it and I would also have a court date. So what did I do, I drove my expired tagged vehicle to my mothers. According to my letter, I was depriciating the value of our homes in our neighborhood. WOW, who would of thought!! Funny thing is, Carson's dad works for the police department and he never heard of this violation. Who the heck finds time to read up on stupid codes like that anyways?
