Remembering......

3 years ago at this time I was lying in bed feeling like poo. I was a manager for Hollywood Video, and couldn't work because the Dr. had discovered that I had very low amniotic fluid. I was told to stay down and drink lots of fluids.

Funny how they did an in depth ultrasound on this day, I was 34 1/2 weeks along. They picked up on him being very small but yet they missed the huge hole in the heart, and any other markers that may have shown that this little miracle I was carrying had an extra chromosome.

His head was up in my ribs, and his feet were kicking my....ahem.....wah zoo?
He never stopped moving. He was constantly on the go.

We were still planning on a C-section in the next two weeks, because the little guy seemed to be stuck in this position.

Little did I know that the next day this same little guy who was kicking the crud out of me was going to rock our world forever.........

You know, technology amazes me and baffles me at the same time.

When we were pg with the twins, we first decided to have the quad test to screen for this and that. My husband's thought was "Yes, lets do it so that we can prepare for anything, should it indicate anything." Our Dr actually talked us out of it, saying that the test is not always accurate and ultimately - would a positive result result in our choice to abort. ABSOLUTELY NOT! So, he said, what was the point to go through the risk and worry when it wouldn't matter anyways...So we opted not to.

At the same time, a colleague of mine, had the test with her first baby - it came back positive and her daughter did not have Downs. She opted not to get the test with her 2nd baby then since it was stress over nothing...and oddly enough, her son DID have downs.

Hope Rhett's birthday reminds you of all the wonderful gifts he's brought to you (although I can tell you celebrate him every day!! :-)

Yes I know how you feel. I had gestational and with 4 weeks to go they measured him right at 8lbs. So to be on the safe side my doctor decided on a C-section for April 19th. My due date was May 5th. But Carson had other plans as well. He showed up on his own on April 7th. He was still 7lb 12oz. Anyways, I hope he has a wonderful birthday. Spoil him rotten for me.
