A Busy Day.....

It's a rare occasion that I am up by 6 am but we have a busy day filled with Dr's appointments and We need to be up in SLC by 9 am. I am super tired and ready to drop already.

We found out last night that Dakota may need to be admitted to the hospital for 4 weeks for a medication adjustment that has to do with his chromosome disorder and his Asperger syndrome. His medications are no longer working and he is really having a hard time.

He has too be observed coming off of some of his meds due to the side effects. We are so saddened by this as he would be there during the holidays, but it is something that must be done now.

Please say a prayer, or send some good vibes for Dakota. I can only imagine what this may feel like for him, as I know how bad it breaks my heart. He is such a good kid and he tries so hard. Going through your teenage years is hard enough without adding a disability on top of it.

I am off to get ready for the day.

Today I am thankful that we live in the day and age that we do. If we didn't I would not have medical help for my kids that they need, and I know that Rhett would not be here were it not for medical intervention. We are truly blessed.

I will be praying for Dakota. That long of a stay will be hard on everyone. Let me know if there's anything I can do. Have a good week. I know it's going to be very busy for you.

Hugs friend. Prayers for Dakota. I'm here if you just need someone to talk to. I know what it's like.

My thoughts are with you and Dakota. That's gotta be difficult. But you're right about the wonders of modern medicine. I found out that an old friend of mine passed away due to a heart issue he'd had from birth. He wasn't supposed to live past his teens, but he lived to be 50. Our kids wouldn't have anything near the chances they have at life if they'd been born even a few decades earlier. This Thanksgiving, I'm very thankful for modern medicine.

Hey Dakota - I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles with meds - that really sucks. I've had a couple bad experiences with meds before, too. You just hang in there, okay?! You are in our prayers - remember that a lot of people love you and your family and you can do this!!
