Heading to Hospital.......

It's been a long morning. Needless to say we are headed to the hospital. Hoping for just a short admit, hoping to be home in time for Christmas.

It's snowing something fierce out there, and we are expected to get 8-12 inches. I have an hour drive ahead of me....and that's on a day when the roads are clear.

But the doctor says Rhett needs IV fluids and his intestines and stomach need a break. Tomorrow it will be a week since all of this started and he still can't tolerate any type of solid food....or even diluted formula for that matter.

Rhett slept over 15 hours last night. He is just tuckered out. His stoma is needing dressing changes 3-4x a day because he is leaking so much, and it's green bile from his stomach.

The hardest thing about this is that he would have days where he was okay and then he would have really bad days.

Anyhow. Merry Christmas to us.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Get well soon little guy! Hopefully it won't be a long stay. Be very careful driving. We have 8 new inches of snow at my house and that's just from 6:00am this morning when I left until just after 12:00pm.

Well it looks like I'll be calling Primary tonight to check on you guys. Who is watching all the other kiddo's? I know timing is always perfect huh? Sending lots of prayers your way. Rhett, you get better really soon so you can have Santa visit your house!

I'm so sorry you are heading to the "big house." We have a running joke around here that it wouldn't be a major holiday if we weren't stuck in the hospital! Praying for a short and straightforward stay.

Good luck to you! When does the insurance kick in. If it is already, I guess there is one thing on the bright side. I am off a few days after Christmas. I will have to come hang out.

Pam,

I'm following your twitter and I see your coming home with the IV. That is such great news. I have done that with myself so I know you can do it. Did they put a no-no board on him and secure it so he won't pull out the IV? I'm praying he is going to be a good boy so he can get better soon!

Call if you need anything.

Love you guys.

I hope you guys are home before Christmas.

Are you guys getting a chest x-ray done??? Just curious, I don't know if I posted in my last comment or not but when Kaden's patch popped he would have green bile come back out of his mickey button. I would ask the doctor to do a chest x-ray if he doesn't plan on doing one just to be on the safe side and to reassure yourself (and me : ) ) that his patch did not pop. Please keep me updated with this or it will drive me crazy.

I really do hope you are home before Christmas. That is definitely not the best place to celebrate, besides he already celebrated his birthday there.

Thinking and praying for you all.
