Thank Heaven's For Rhett's Leash........

AKA as his oxygen cord. I lost him today I couldn't find him anywhere. He only has 3 rooms he can go in. I was in the kitchen making up his pediasure mix for his feed, and I hear him singing "La, La, Elmo," it gets quite for a minute or two and I come in and he's gone.

I spend a good three minutes in sheer panic calling for him. Usually when you call his name he says "HUH?????" So I was turning into a mad woman, then I think to myself, "DUH", follow his oxygen cord.

It leads right to his closet

He had dumped out all of his toys in the closet, and crawled into his toy basket with his blanket and fallen asleep. The closet door was closed, so I didn't even think to look in there.

Talk about a heart attack.

And who gave this kid permission to grow up all of the sudden? He can now zip and unzip zippers!! This would have been nice to know before I left him in his crib for his nap with a zipper sleeper on. I come in and he is buck naked......asleep.

I don't get it, really, where did my baby go?

That's too funny! Maybe a padlock would work, lol! Thankfully Joey hasn't figured out zippers yet BUT he does know how to take his diaper off so the few times I've put him down for a nap with just a shirt and diaper on, I've gone to get him up and found him with only a shirt on, lol!

Pedisure mix....oh yeah we have those. Blended mix of all kinds of yummy stuff, shoved down the feeding tube. Hang in there....
I cant wait til Tucker is doing that stuff. I went to an IEP meeting today. Tucker starts school on his birthday in Sept. I see Tuck ever day and cannot believe the progress he is making and then you attend a meeting where they pick your son apart. Dont get me wrong, they were nice but his ability levels hover around the 12 month level. Here he is going to be 3 and we are at 12 months. I would never had guessed he was that far behind on things. I dont realize it until it is put on paper along side a "normal" kids charge. Just kinda a downer.....
Sorry didnt mean to go off on that, I just cant wait to find Tuck asleep in the dryer or hiding under his bed. :)

We follow the cord around here too. In fact I find it funny when my son tries to hide from us, cause we just follow his o2 cord.

You'll need to invest in some diaper safety pins. Helps keep those sleepers on.

yeah tell me about it. (I'm Eva's mom. Eva has DS also.) One day i'm getting her out of her crib, the next minute she's saying okay when i ask her to get off the table. We too are going through the undressing thing. I think, i'm just going to bite the bullet and potty train. I'm usually the one that's ready. Not with her. She's ready before me.

Too cute! I used to crawl into closets and under tables for naps when I was a kid too. Once my parents could not find me and had the whole nieghborhood looking. I was under a table in the house sound asleep.

He is growing up! Time goes so fast.

Oh how fast the grow!!! Love the trail of tubing visual:)

Oh the undressing thing...woke up one nap time and found Miss T in only her onesie (I didn't snap it up...won't do that again) and found her in a big wet puddle and a bunch of little "pellet poops". I used to not like the pellets, I now have an appreciation for them. Less to clean up ;)

I swear she knows just how and when to make herself pee. She does it everytime I change her diaper. Really she will totally look me in the eye and you can see her little tummy contract and everything.... As soon as she is walking that is her first destination the bathroom to potty traim... ;)

Hugs to all
Kim and Miss T

Pam, that is too funny!!! And what made it funnier is that it describes my Tom to a T :o)
He is a first class escape-artist, and he frequently goes on the run. When you talked about the way Rhett answers you when you call his name, Tom invariably answers, in EXACTLY the same way. As if to say: "waddya want??!?" And so if he doesn't answer, I go into a state of mild panic, cos I know he could be anywhere. Unlike Rhett however, he is not on a convenient 'leash' and so it can be a nightmare finding him!
Man, these kids are SO sneaky, aren't they?!?
I'm glad you found him, albeit butt naked and sound asleep!!! It shows a fiesty sense of adventure and spirit which will get him far in life. He is wonderful!!
Hugs to you and all yours
